What was your dream job when you were a kid? Come on, we all had at least a couple ideas.
Those with a sense of adventure probably wanted to be a cowboy, or maybe an astronaut when they grew up. Others wanted to be rich and famous, like a professional athlete or rock star.
Then, you got the slackers who just dreamed about getting paid to lie around and sleep all the time. Don’t laugh, NASA could make those dreams come true now.
How to make thousands of dollars the easiest way possible
NASA, along with a couple other space agencies, are looking for people with a special set of skills. No, you don’t have to be able to track down missing people like Liam Neeson in the Taken movies.
This role is much simpler. At least in theory.
You just have to agree to lie in bed for about 2 months, without getting up to do anything. Literally, anything.
You’ll have to do everything while lying down. Eat, get dressed, watch TV, exercise and yes, even shower, while lying on a bed.
If you can handle this hard-hitting task, you’ll make a cool $19,000. That’s for the entirety of the study that lasts about 2 months, from September 2019 to December 2019.
There is one catch that might eliminate you from participating. You have to know how to speak German. That’s because the study is taking place in Germany.
Why are they doing this, you ask?
Well, it’s a research study on how the body changes in weightlessness. Based on the study results, scientists will develop countermeasures that reduce the negative effects of weightlessness on astronauts.
It’s all part of the bigger picture. NASA plans on sending crews of astronauts to Mars in the near future, and this study will help make the lengthy travel easier on them.
To be part of the study, you have to first complete a questionnaire to help determine if you’re well-suited for it. Then, you’ll have to go through some mental and physical fitness tests in several preliminary exams.
