Don’t miss these Veterans Day deals

It’s Veterans Day weekend, and if you’ve served in the armed forces, thank you for your service! Good news: you’re in line for some pretty great deals.

Like always, there are the restaurant deals where you can eat for free on Veterans Day, like at Applebee’s and Chili’s — just make sure you visit a participating location. Aside from restaurants, you can get discounts at retailers like Target and on tickets to select attractions.

Don’t know where you can find all these great deals? No problem, we’ve compiled a list of freebies and discounts just for you.

Veterans Day entertainment deals you don’t want to miss

We’ve discovered deals on entertainment, retail locations, food and drink. Keep in mind, some of the restaurants offering free meals are not in every state in the U.S. and some of the entertainment is location-specific.

If you want deals you can take advantage of from the comfort of your home, sign up for an Amazon Prime membership. Through Nov. 11, active military veterans can get $40 off the regular price for an Amazon Prime subscription.

That knocks it down to $80 for the year. If you’re already a Prime member, an extra year will be added to your account at the lower price. Tap or click here to get a year of Amazon Prime for $79.

On to the list. Let’s begin with entertainment deals including tickets, tours and hotels:

Free Broadway play

If you happen to be in New York City on Monday, you can check out a free Broadway performance. Service members, veterans and up to three guests can catch the play “A Raisin in the Sun” at 7 p.m. at the American Airlines Theater for free. Register at www.aitaf11.eventbrite.com.

Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, Sesame Place

As part of the Waves of Honor program, active-duty military personnel, along with veterans, can get one free admission per year at SeaWorld, Busch Gardens or Sesame Place parks across the country.

Free admission includes up to three guests. To qualify, you must be registered with ID.me and show your military ID at the front gate. Tap or click here to see a full list of offers and available locations.

Various events

Military personnel and vets can get free tickets year-round to various shows including concerts, performing arts and sporting events through a program called Vet Tix. Tickets are donated to this nonprofit and families can attend events for a handling fee of under $20. Tap or click here to see how Vet Tix works and available events.
