You can simply track down an item you want to buy, select it, toggle price tracking and let the updates come to you. You can keep an eye on when your items are the lowest price you’re comfortable paying and can take advantage of the great deals.
To utilize Google Shopping, grab a smartphone (the feature is only live on mobile devices) and follow these steps:
- Open up a browser on your phone. Any one will do.
- Head to Google.com.
- Search for an item you’d like to buy, anything you can presumably buy at a retailer (not a niche item).
- Tap on the “Shopping” tab at the top of the page.
- Search through the Google Shopping search results for the item you want.
- Tap on the result you’d like to look at.
- Scroll down until you see a toggle button that says “Track Price.”
- Tap the toggle to turn on the feature.
Now you’re all set to track your preferred product’s price! Google will even send you notifications, if you’d like, each day with the item’s various price fluctuations. You can change your Google Shopping tracking history and options via the My Activity page for your Google profile. You can also go there to delete any tracking information as well, tap or click here to learn how.
With the holidays coming up, there’s no doubt this feature will soon become a valuable tool as you start checking off your gift lists for all your lucky recipients. When it’s this easy to save a little extra money, you should absolutely take advantage.
