Read on to see if you can solve this illusion stumping everyone.
Here’s the backstory
If you are a champion at playing hidden object games like Where’s Waldo?, you should be able to spot a curved line among many straight ones, right? Of course, it is easier said than done, especially if the background tricks your brain.
Before looking at the image below, there are some things you must know. First, the square image features straight, green lines on a background of grey bricks.
However, there is one curved line, and it’s your job to find it. There are no timers, hidden images or existential meanings — just one curved line.
Think you can do it? Here is the image which first appeared on Reddit over the weekend:
What you can do about it
It’s okay if you have been staring at the picture for 30 minutes, but you might not be happy about the solution. See, there isn’t a way to find the answer unless you painstakingly go over it with a ruler or change the colors.
That’s because your brain has difficulty filtering out different colors seemingly close on the spectrum. So if you look at one line, the next one will seem curved. But as soon as your shift your gaze, it seemingly becomes straight again.
According to The Sun, there might not be a solution, but there is an explanation. Illusion lover Michael Bach explained: “The tiles contain a low-resolution brightness curve masked by all the borders.”
