One of the nation’s most celebrated Fourth of July events is the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. It is the most highly attended Fourth of July event in the nation, with an average of 200,000 people enjoying the free outdoor concert each year. It’s phenomenal!
Patriotic and popular songs are played, and a range of musical guests have headlined the event over the years. The musical guest roster has included Boston’s own Aerosmith, Cyndi Lauper and other performers from the worlds of Broadway and opera.
If you can’t make it to Boston, we will show you how you can watch or listen to the concert live.
How to Watch the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular
This year’s headlining musical guest is singer and Academy Award-nominated actress Queen Latifah. Also performing will be folk star Arlo Guthrie, who will celebrate the music of Woodstock for its 50th anniversary.
The concert begins at 8 p.m. and the fireworks begin at 10:30 p.m., both Eastern time.
Fun fact: The concert’s largest audience was in 1976 for the nation’s Bicentennial. About 500,000 people squeezed into the outdoor area where the concert takes place.
If you don’t live in or around Boston, don’t despair. The event will be shown live on Bloomberg TV and streaming at Bloomberg.com as well as on local radio, television, and Sirius Radio. You can also watch the event live on YouTube.
