Swap homes for $1 a night with this new app

Yeah, traveling can be pretty expensive. Whether you are driving, flying or taking a train, you will have to pay for transportation.

You will also need to cover lodging, food and any other costs that are associated with being anywhere but home. It can all add up pretty quickly.

What if you could remove one of the things you would normally have to pay for? Or, at least, what if you could trim the price down so much that it would essentially be free?

A place to stay does not have to empty your bank account

The idea behind an app called “Holiday Swap” is that finding a place to stay should not only be easy, but cheap, too. It sees itself as the “Tinder of travel” in that you use the app to get a look at different locations before hopefully finding one that fits your needs.

Once found, if the other person feels the same way, you match and swap places. It costs just $1 per night per bed.

Similar to the dating app, you filter your settings in order to find the best match for you. Once found, if the other person feels the same way, you match and swap places.

With the app’s “Always bag packed” option, you can explore the world while making connections for places you will be able to stay at in the future. Looking for an excuse to visit a new and random destination? This could be it.

The app can provide notifications for you when someone likes your property, which will then give you the chance to match with them or not.

Holiday Swap provides a built-in chat feature that allows you to get to know someone before deciding to trade with them, and its user rating system, dedicated customer service and “Top Swapper” status gives you the opportunity to see reviews of a potential spot.

And if that is not enough to calm any fears you may have, the app also provides the option for a deposit system, which should allay any fears of damage being caused to your property.
