Kim’s Take: The most expensive divorce in history

While Jeff Bezos is about to divide a $140 billion fortune with his soon-to-be ex-wife, some people are losing their life savings trying to sell things on Amazon.

The Atlantic wrote about a couple who lost $40,000 trying to hit it big on Amazon Marketplace. All they had to do was pay self-proclaimed experts $4,000 to help them find a popular random product made in China – in this case a plastic wine aerator – which they were told to buy a bunch of and sell on Amazon.

These Amazon get-rich schemes are rampant. Fall for it and you’ll be faced with unexpected extra fees and then competition from lots of other people trying to do the exact same thing. There’s no way to get your money back.

These success coaches disappear faster than any privacy you might have left on Facebook.
