Kim’s Take: Common tech items millennials have never heard of

If it seems like only a few years ago that pagers, VHS tapes and floppy discs were everywhere, you are clearly NOT a millennial.

Millennials not only never used these devices, they don’t even know what they look like.

Millennials are the people born from the early 1980s to 2004. That puts them between the ages of 15 to 35.

To them, you’re positively ancient if you remember using rotary dial telephones. And even though many items on our list were in wide use when they were born, technology changed so rapidly that millennials cannot identify music cassettes or CDs.

Two-thirds of them have never seen a once-common classroom overhead projector. Show them a floppy disc and it’s a complete blank.

But the most mysterious product to millennials is the VHS tape – once so common that most of us just considered them to be a permanent fact of life.

But one tech item that they WILL recognize, because of the popularity of party DJs, is a vinyl record and a turntable.
