We're only a week away from Valentine's Day - do you have a date yet? Even though some think the holiday is a little cheesy, millions will still celebrate by taking that special someone to dinner for a romantic night out.
If you are single, there is a new tool that might just help you find your true love. You won't believe how it works.
Samsung is known for its TVs, smartphones and tablets. But the company now wants to help give a boost to your love life, in a very creative way.
It's like Tinder for foodies
You've probably heard the old saying, "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach." Well, Samsung is taking that to the next level.
The company has created a free online tool designed to help find your soulmate. It's called "Refrigerdating."
The purpose of Refrigerdating is to help you find love based on the contents of your refrigerator. Yep, your refrigerator.
First, you need to create an account. Then, simply upload a picture of the inside of your fridge to the online tool. This allows others to see what type of food you eat on a regular basis, which is supposed to give them an idea of who you are. As they say, "You are what you eat."
Refrigerdating will then show you a collection of images from other fridges on the tool, to help find your perfect match. Think of it like a version of Tinder for foodies.
The Refrigerdating tool even gives you the following tips before getting started.
- Don't stage the inside of your fridge. Make sure it is what it is without creating an imitation version of you. Like most relationship advice, you'll have better luck being honest up front.
- When looking for a match, don't just choose refrigerators that look like yours. Sometimes it's better to expand your horizons and be open to new cuisines.
- Once you've found a potential match, send them a cool personal message as an icebreaker. Try complimenting their food selection while revealing something about yourself. For example, "Hey, love that spicy taco sauce, makes me think of my exchange semester in Mexico."
You can take a picture of your fridge with your gadget and upload it to the site. Or, what Samsung is really hoping for is that you'll buy its Family Hub Refrigerator that includes a touchscreen on the door and lets you take pictures of what's inside. Of course it'll cost a nice chunk of change, nearly $3,000 and up. But can you really put a price on love?
