If you own one of the latest iPhone models, you probably shelled out around a grand for it. You'd think a gadget that costs that much would have a super-long battery life. But it doesn't.
The iPhone XS Max battery lasts up to 13 hours for internet use, which is only an hour longer than the iPhone 7.
That's why Apple has come out with a new smart battery case, to extend your iPhone's battery life. But is it worth the huge price tag?
Does Apple's smart battery case live up to the hype?
Apple started selling smart battery cases last week for some of its new iPhone models. There are cases for the iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.
According to Apple, the case will extend your talk time up to 37 hours, internet use up to 20 hours and video playback up to 25 hours. It also has a soft microfiber lining that helps protect your iPhone.
The idea of having a case that not only protects your gadget from being damaged if you drop it but extends its battery life sounds fantastic. But there are a couple of problems with Apple's new case that might have you thinking twice before getting one.
The first thing that you're not going to like is the bulkiness that the case adds to the phone. Here's a picture of what it looks like:

Notice the big hump on the back of the phone. That can't be comfortable to carry around in your pocket.
The next problem with the case is the price. It costs $129.
That's a little steep wouldn't you say? Especially if you've already dropped nearly $1,500 on the iPhone itself. There are less expensive options out there.
