Here's July's Netflix list of shows coming and going

As we prepare to say goodbye to June, we do so knowing that summer is officially here. Cooler weather is a thing of the past, and in its place is more sun and, if we're lucky, maybe the beach.

It is also a time when we welcome new shows and movies to Netflix, while parting with some others. For some it's a great thing as they have either run out of things to watch (not likely) or can't wait for something new to arrive.

For others, it's a disappointing time as they must watch one of their favorites leave their streaming pastime. Whatever the case, here is a list of what's coming and going for Netflix in July.

It's a rather underwhelming month

Some months see new shows that we could not wait to start or movies that couldn't get to Netflix soon enough. July is not really that month.

"Orange is the New Black" will be back for season six toward the end of the month, while "Happy Gilmore" will arrive at the beginning.

What else?

Welcome to Jurassic Park

That's right, the original "Jurassic Park" -- as well as its significantly less-successful sequels "The Lost World" and "Jurassic Park III" -- will all make their way to Netflix on July 1. Based on the Michael Chrichton novels of the same name, it tells the story of what happens when man is able to recreate dinosaurs.

Starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough, Samuel L. Jackson and others, the original set box office records when it was released in 1993. It was one of the first films to successfully integrate computer-generated imagery (spoiler alert: the dinosaurs aren't real), and spawned a franchise that is still going to this day.

As for the sequels, well, they are technically movies and there are plenty of dinosaurs, so at least there's that.

The movie that made being into computers cool

Even in the early 2000s computers were still finding their way into our everyday lives. At that time they were still something not everyone understood, and certainly weren't considered to be all that cool.

"Swordfish" kind of changed that. It is the story of a hacker who gets caught up in a crime ring and, not surprisingly, things got pretty exciting.

The movie stars John Travolta, Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman and Don Cheadle and while maybe not great cinema, provides enough action and glitz to make for an enjoyable watch, which you can beginning July 1.

Finding love in a machine

A touching, yet somewhat disturbing film, "Her" is the tale of a lonely man who falls in love with his virtual assistant. Starring Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansson, the movie is at times both brilliant and uncomfortable.

In fact, there are moments where you almost forget that Johansson is not an actual woman. Really, can a man truly fall in love with a machine?

We may not want to know the answer to that question, but at any rate the movie got strong reviews and will be available on Netflix starting July 29.
