What's in and out of Netflix in March

What's in and out of Netflix in March

As we prepare to say goodbye to February (the month never really is long enough), we must ready ourselves for the changes Netflix has in store for us. Like always, we will say hello to some movies and TV shows while at the same time bidding adieu to others.

We went through this not long ago, when February saw us welcome "Altered Carbon" and "Everything Sucks" into our lives while forcing us to leave behind "Burn Notice," Tim Burton's "Corpse Bride" and "Family Guy," among other shows.

Before you concern yourself with the Ides of March or any part of the month, check out this list of what will be coming and going when the calendar turns. Keep in mind this list will be updated as more information comes out.

Benji (Netflix Original)

Netflix is bringing a modern take on a classic story of how a family found a dog but really, the dog found a family.

After Carter finds a stray dog and coaxes it to follow him home, the first order of business is convincing their mom to let him stick around. They give the dog a name, Benji, and from there the story takes a turn when Carter and his sister Frankie are kidnapped. Benji then helps track them down, becoming a hero in the process.

As the trailer says, "'Benji' "gets a new home" on March 16.

Ghostbusters (1984)

Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!

A classic if there ever was one, follow along as a team of paranormal investigators battles ghosts as well as politicians in an effort to save the city of New York from ghosts as well as Gozer the Gozerian.

The film introduced us to Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spangler, Winston Zeddmore, Louis Tully and Dana Barrett, as well as Slimer and the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man (Ray thought it would be harmless -- oops!) and a franchise that would spawn a sequel, a reboot, cartoons, toys and video games.

Starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver, both "Ghostbusters" and its sequel, "Ghostbusters 2," will be available on March 1.

50 First Dates (2004)

A love story with a comedic twist, "50 First Dates" follows the story of Henry Roth and his courtship of Lucy Whitmore. While that would not seem like anything crazy, Lucy suffered a head injury that causes her to forget the previous day after she falls asleep. So, every day they spent together was, to her, the first time they met.

It's as touching as it is funny, as you find yourself rooting for the characters as they struggle through the unconventional romance.

The movie stars Adam Sandler as Henry and Drew Barrymore as Lucy and will be available on March 28.

Other highlights:

Other notable arrivals to Netflix in March include movies "300," "Cruel Intentions," "Up in the Air" and "Little Women." We will also get season two of "Jessica Jones," along with other Netflix originals "Collateral," "Nailed It" and "Game Over, Man!"

On the flip side, the month will see the departures of "Archer" and all four seasons of "Lab Rats."
