It's truly the stuff of legends. Apple announces a new product and people are so excited to own one that they are willing to wait in crazy long lines. And they wait for hours and some wait for days. People have camped outside Apple stores living and sleeping on the street for 10 days to be the first to own a much-coveted product.
Are those times over? The iPhone 8 was made available around the globe at Apple's flagship stores and other retailers on Friday, September 22, 2017. It's not being greeted with the same excitement as products in the past.
Let's be honest.
Despite the 8 suffix, if you truly think about it, these new iPhones are not the latest and greatest among phones. It's essentially just the "S" upgrades of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. Except for a few hardware tweaks, their form factors are virtually unchanged from the iPhone 6 (which came out three years ago!)
Since they're pretty much identical to the iPhone 7 models, what new features are in the iPhone 8 models that make the upgrade worth it? If you want to know more about whether you should buy the iPhone 8, click here for a tip that will help you answer that question.
Judging from the lines shown in these pictures published in the "DailyMail," not too many people want the iPhone 8. We'll have to see if the online orders have stepped up when Apple releases sales figures. The same Apple store is shown in both photos below.
