The current mobile provider wars are proving to be a great thing for the average consumer. This carrier one-upmanship and battle for supremacy mean one thing - more features and better prices for us!

Yesterday, we reported about how the mobile carrier ads are heating up. With Verizon bringing back its unlimited data plans, the competition is starting to get interesting.

Note: Check out this recent article to find out who actually has the best network - and it's a tie!

T-Mobile's upgraded ONE plan

In direct response to Verizon's move, T-Mobile announced that it will be upgrading its T-Mobile ONE unlimited data to include HD streaming and 10GB mobile hotspot tethering with no extra fees!

This fixes two of the biggest complaints against T-Mobile's unlimited ONE data plan. Currently, its ONE plan only allows standard-def non-HD video streams over mobile unless customers pay an additional $15 fee for the "One Plus" option or $3 for a one-day "HD pass." It also doesn't include mobile hotspot tethering.

The new upgrades will have HD video streaming and mobile hotspot tethering (which allows customers to use their smartphones as mobile Wi-Fi routers for internet access for other devices) turned on by default.

Additionally, T-Mobile announced a new promotional deal that discounts ONE plans with two lines down to $100, including taxes and fees.

Similar to other unlimited plans, there are a few caveats to consider. Customers who exceed 28GB of data within any monthly billing cycle will see reduced speeds due to "usage prioritization" (Verizon's cap is 22GB.)

The included mobile hotspot tethering will also be capped at 10GB. Hotspot speeds will drop down to 3G speeds if customers exceed this cap.

These upgrades will start rolling out this Friday, February 17 to all T-Mobile ONE subscribers and customers can activate these new features via the T-Mobile app or online at t-mobile.com.
