A Christmas movie marathon with my family is one of my favorite holiday traditions. There's so many good ones to choose from so here's a list that has a little something for everybody!
1. A comedy
Christmas with the Kranks (2004)
"When their only daughter Blair leaves the family nest, Luther and Nora Krank (Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis) decide to book an island cruise to beat the yuletide blues and just skip the holidays. But their decision to boycott tradition has the whole neighborhood in an uproar, and when Blair calls on Christmas Eve to announce a surprise visit with her new fiancée, the Kranks have just twelve hours to perform a miracle and pull themselves and their neighbors together to throw the best celebration ever!"
2. A remake
Miracle On 34th Street (1994)
"Six-year-old Susan (Mara Wilson) has doubts about childhood's most enduring miracle Santa Claus. Her mother told her the 'secret' about Santa a long time ago, so Susan doesn't expect to receive the most important gifts on her Christmas list. But after meeting a special department store Santa (Richard Attenborough) who's convinced he's the real thing, Susan is given the most precious gift of all: something to believe in."
3. A classic
White Christmas (1954)
"Two talented song-and-dance men (Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye) team up after the war to become one of the hottest acts in show business. One winter, they join forces with a sister act (Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen) and trek to Vermont for a white Christmas."
4. A cartoon for the kids
Saving Santa (2013)
"In this seasonal animated adventure, inventive elf Bernard (voiced by Martin Freeman) builds a gadget that accidentally reveals the whereabouts of Santa's workshop to scheming billionaire Neville Baddington (voiced by Tim Curry). He's keen to pinch the technology for Santa's superfast sleigh for his delivery business...but he fails to factor in Bernard, who rallies to the rescue against Baddington and his band of Santa-hating helpers."
5. A love story
Love Actually (2003)
"Featuring an exceptional mega cast of top British actors, 'Love Actually' follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely and interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England."
