Brainteaser: This crazy spinning dancer can reveal if you’re a genius

Are you a secret genius? According to researchers, your answer to the following question could give you away and reveal what your mind is truly capable of.

Is the dancer in the video below spinning clockwise, or counterclockwise?

When you watch the video the first time, it might seem like an obvious choice. Your brain will naturally make a determination as to the direction the dancer is spinning. But keep watching her spin and you might be surprised by what you see!

Some report that the dancer is spinning clockwise, others report the opposite.  Some people report that the dancer changes directions periodically.

This optical illusion was originally designed to determine which side of the brain was dominant, but now, experts believe that it says more about a person's IQ and ability to perceive things than which hemisphere is used most.

The research suggests that most individuals will see the dancer spinning clockwise. This is because our natural viewpoint is from an elevated position and we tend to focus primarily on the right side of an object.

It has also been said that those with higher IQs have the ability to see the dancer spinning in both directions. However, there's actually more going on behind the scenes than meets the eye.

Really, the dancing ballerina is what's called a "reversible image." These types of images seem to change randomly, but that's not necessarily due to how smart a person is.

The image seems to shift because it can be seen in different ways, depending on where your eyes are positioned. As you move your eyes, the image will change.

Which way was the ballerina spinning when you first saw it? Are you able to see the change as you move your eyes around? Let us know in the comments.
