With Christmas being just days away, most people can't help but be in a festive mood. We have the wonderful holiday parties to look forward to and spending some much-needed quality time with our loved ones. Children are giddy with anticipation of what Santa Claus will leave them under the tree. Happiness is contagious!
Which brings us to this listing on eBay. Amy Cook is selling some of her husband's scuba equipment, and she's doing it in such a humorous way.
The listing's headline is: Steve's Scuba Crap & why it has to go. This should tip you off to the tone of Cook's advertisement.
Here is part of what she wrote on the eBay listing:
"I'm putting Steve's Scuba Crap on EBAY. Why you ask? Well...
"So we were cleaning out the attic and came across what I lovingly refer to as his bag of scuba crap. In the attic? You cannot get much use out of it there. CORRECT!
"It's been in the attic since we got married. Even before that. Oh don't get me wrong, I have no doubt that this is (or at least was) some quality scuba gear. Not that he, or I, or anybody we know (with the exception of our children) could fit into it at this point. No, I let them try it on for pictures, but then hurriedly put it away because it is a sad reminder of how I never got to go.
"You see, before my husband and I met, he and his sister (and his sister's husband) and his brother (and his brother's wife) always went on scuba or skiing or camping or deep-sea fishing adventures. I mean ALL THE TIME.
"This scuba gear is a reminder of my husband's 'fun family' time before I came into the picture. And no, I'm awesome, so it's not because they didn't like me. It's just that the one and only trip I got to go on did not turn out well for me. I got to go on ONE trip. ONE trip to the coast."
