Translate face-to-face conversations in real-time!

Translate face-to-face conversations in real-time!

Winter is right around the corner and depending on where you live, it will be bringing some nasty cold weather with it. It's the perfect time to get away and take that trip to your dream location.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? France, Japan and Italy are just a few of the locations on my vacation bucket list. One thing that intimidates me about taking these trips is the language barrier. There's good news, though, now there is an app for that.

Microsoft has made a fantastic update to its Translator app. It's now possible to translate in-person conversations in real-time.

How it works is, everyone participating in a conversation will use the app. They will then be able to see the discussion translated into their language on their gadget. Some gadgets are even able to translate in spoken word.

The app is available for iOS, Android and Windows gadgets and can be found in each of the app stores as well as on Amazon. It's also available for use through this Microsoft website.

Using the Microsoft Translator app

The Translator app is really simple to use. Here are its three easy steps:

  1. Start - Click on "Start conversation." Log in and enter your name and language.
  2. Share - Share the conversation code with everyone you want to have a conversation with. They can join using the Translator app or website.
  3. Speak - Speak or type in your language to communicate with other participants in the conversation. They will see your messages in their own language.

It's that easy! You can even translate images, download languages to translate offline and hear your translated phrase for you to help you pronounce your translation. That's just a few of the app's features.

The app translates into over 60 languages. Some of those are Arabic, Chinese, French, Japanese and Italian.

As you can see all of my dream locations are on the list, so I'm going to have to start checking them off my bucket list.
