Aren't rebates great? Only if you remember to redeem them! If you're ignoring Amazon rebates then you're missing out on free money.
Amazon offers mail-in rebates and online rebates on lots of items. If you find one, here's what you need to know so that you can get some cash back.
The rebate form does not come with your package so you need to print it from the details' page of the product you purchased. On that page, click where it says "Rebate forms." Make sure you print the form before the postmark deadline. After the deadline, the link to the form disappears.
You may also need to print proof-of-purchase documentation, like the sales receipt. If you threw it away already, you can print a copy from your Amazon account. Fill out your rebate form and mail it in with the required documents.
These rebates have two deadlines. You must buy the eligible item by the purchase deadline and mail in the rebate form by the postmark deadline. If you submit the rebate, you can't return the item you purchased.
There's a special portal on the Amazon website where you can check if an item you purchased is eligible for an online rebate. You'll need to have your order number and the email address on your Amazon account handy. You should also have the packing slip that was delivered with the item you purchased. You will use these documents to complete an online rebate form.
Twenty-four hours after you submit the form, you'll be able to check the status of the rebate. The site can use your tracking number, order number, or your name and ZIP code to look it up.
These rebates also have the same two deadlines. You need to buy the item by the purchase deadline and submit the online rebate form by the postmark deadline. Also similar to mail in rebates, you can't return the item after submitting the rebate form.
Unfortunately, rebates can take from 12 to 15 weeks to process. Make sure you read all the terms and conditions for each rebate. You can contact the Amazon Help Department if you have any questions.
