iOS 10 lets users delete stock Apple apps

iOS 10 lets users delete stock Apple apps

If you've ever owned an iPhone, you have most likely noticed that some apps can't be removed. Stocks, Podcasts, Find Friends, Game Center and Find iPhone are among these apps. But now that iOS 10 is out, you can finally get rid of those space-hogging apps for good.

No longer will you need to use this trick to hide default apps. All you need to do is update to iOS 10 by going to Settings >> General >> Software Update >> Download and Install. On top of being able to delete default apps, you can learn about what else you'll be getting from iOS 10 by clicking here.

Once iOS 10 is installed on your iPhone, simply hold your finger down on the screen until the icon begins shaking. You will also see an "X" icon in the corner. Click the "X" and the app will be removed from your home screen.

It's important to note, however, that deleting these built-in apps will only remove their icons from the home screen. The app's data will still be stored within the phone.

Here's the full list of the apps that can now be removed: Podcasts, Maps, Compass, Tips, Calculator, Watch, Voice Memos, Contacts, Stocks, Weather, Calendar, Mail, Music, Reminders, Videos, FaceTime, Notes and the iTunes store.

Can't remove: Phone and Messages, Find iPhone, Health
