You care about your health. You eat well when you can, and you exercise every day.
You also check your weight, even when you don't want to. It's easy. Just step on the scale and you'll immediately know if you're gaining weight, losing weight, or maintaining your ideal weight.
Fortunately, technology is making it a lot easier to check much more than your weight, though. You might have a digital blood pressure monitor, for instance.
Now, you can also easily monitor your heart's overall health. (Note: If you know anyone who suffers from heart conditions, share this important information with them. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for social media buttons.)
The Body Cardio scale (above and below) looks like a scale to measure your weight. It does that but it also measures your body mass index, bone mass, muscle mass and, most important, your pulse wave velocity.
That measures the wave in your arteries that your heart creates each time it beats. If it's too fast, that can be an indication you're at risk for cardiovascular disease.
Body Cardio also helps you monitor your pulse wave activity over time with its Health Mate app. (It's free for Android smartphones on the Google Play store and for iPhones on iTunes).
It will show you your optimal pulse wave velocity for your age. Plus, you can see if it's improving over time as you change your diet and exercise routine.
