I’ve gotten the question here on the show for years. And it’s natural to wonder about it. When you put your phone against your head, is the radiation that’s emitted doing physical harm to your body?

It begged the question no one wanted to ask or know the answer to, will using your phone give you cancer?

The wireless industry has always said no, don’t worry about it. It’s all good. But we have had reports that men should not put their phones in their pockets if they wanted to have children. Click here to read more about why this is true.

I once spoke to a brain surgeon about this topic. He told me that they were seeing a higher incident of tumors on the right side of people’s brain, but why this was happening was inconclusive. Well, the right side is where post people position the phone. He also told me always have my son put his phone in his back pocket and not to let him hold his phone up to his ear for more than a few minutes at the time.

I have shared this story over the years with you. I hardly ever put the phone up to my face and thankfully Ian texts more than calls. Well we all have a wake up call to the cellphone and cancer connection with a new government study.

This multi-year and peer reviewed study found low incidences of two types of tumors in male rats. The tumors were gliomas, which are in the brain, and schwan nomas of the heart. Interesting, female rats did not get the tumors. So this ceases people saying that there is no connection between cellphones and cancer.

There have been studies like this before. In fact, last summer new research on electromagnetic biology and medicine was published in a scientific journal by Dr. Igor Yakymenko. In this research, Dr. Yakymenko found that extended exposure to radio frequency radiation caused oxidative stress in living cells. Click here to read more about this study.

So, what makes this new study different? Some are even calling it "game changing." This new study is much larger in scale, and was conducted by the National Toxicology Program (NTP).
