If you haven't tried Amazon Prime yet, then you're missing out. The perks go far beyond free shipping these days. Now, Prime members enjoy benefits like video and music streaming, discounts on household items and even same-day delivery. Click here for a full list of all the amazing perks.
The only downside is the price. An Amazon Prime membership typically costs $99 annually - which isn't horrible, but it's still an expense worth considering.
But now, there's at least one group of people who won't have to worry about that membership fee. College students can use their .edu email address to get a six-month trial of Amazon Prime for free.
The program is called Amazon Student, and it offers a lot of the same perks as a regular Prime membership, but there are also additional benefits. Students who join will also enjoy special discounts on products from Amazon.com.
Here's the best part: although the name implies it, you actually don't have to be an active student to enjoy the perks of this membership. All you need is a .edu email address to sign up. This means if you've recently graduated, or still remember your .edu email address from college, you can sign up and enjoy the same benefits.
After the six-month free trial, members of Amazon Student will be given the opportunity to purchase Amazon Prime at half-off the typical cost.
