When it comes to digital privacy, many people tend to think that the more high-tech and complicated the solution is, the better. But sometimes it's the simple solutions that work best, as even the FBI is now showing.
In a recent speech on encryption and privacy at Kenyon College in Ohio, FBI director James Comey revealed that he keeps a piece of tape over his laptop's Webcam to prevent spying. This, naturally, generated a lot of ridicule on social media.
Given the FBI's recent battle trying to get Apple to bypass the security on the iPhone, some people consider Director Comey's stance on personal privacy a little ironic. There are also people who point out that even the FBI doesn't want the CIA spying on them.
Of course, the piece of tape trick is actually a good one for keeping prying eyes away. Kim does that on her laptop Webcams.
