At yesterday's big Apple Event, the tech giant introduced a new iPhone, a new iPad and new bands for the Apple Watch.
They also introduced Liam, a robot at the heart of Apple's recycling and reusing program Apple Renew.
What Liam does is take apart iPhones and separate parts to be recycled and used for other projects, instead of landing in a tech wasteland. In fact, during yesterday's event, when an Apple exec asked Siri about Apple Renew, she responded that it's a great program, "but really Liam tears me apart."
And that could mean tears her apart in more way than one. The Internet is having fun with the two Apple robots, with lots of Tweets claiming the two are a couple.
All jokes aside, Liam is made up of 29 different robotic arms, resides in Cupertino near Apple headquarters and recovers materials like aluminum, copper, cobalt, gold and silver to be reintroduced back into the global supply.
Liam can also disassemble a "few million" iPhones in a year, which isn't as many as the 231 million iPhones sold in 2015 alone. With that in mind, Apple also announced plans to build a second robot like Liam to use in Europe. It's a small fraction of phones to start with, but it's a start.
