Remember when everyone was thinking that Apple would soon release its iPad Air 3? That was a popular guess when Apple confirmed a few weeks ago that'll introduce some new products on March 15.
But, as always, guessing what Apple will do is a half-right, half-wrong situation. As it turns out, there will be a new iPad but it has nothing to do with Air.
In fact, Apple is streamlining its tablets under the iPad Pro name. Last fall, it debuted the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, with an optional keyboard and Apple Pencil, which you can use to write on its screen.
Apple is said to be phasing out its iPad Mini and iPad Air. On March 15, it'll launch a smaller, 9.7-inch version of iPad Pro, according to multiple sources.
This smaller iPad Pro will be as powerful as the 12.9-inch version. Which is to say it'll be incredibly powerful. The iPad Pro has 32GB and 128GB versions. They use Apple's A9X microprocessor and the iOS9 operating system. It has dual channel Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz, 5GHz) and Bluetooth wireless technology.
No word yet on prices. But it's expected the 9.7-inch iPad Pro will be comparably priced to iPad Air, which starts at $499.
Apple will introduce other new products on March 15. We've been telling you about its 4-inch iPhone, which is believed to be called iPhone 5se. It'll use the A9 chip and will include Apple's GIF-style moving photos, Live Photos.
Apple is also expected to roll out new looks for its Apple Watch. You can expect to see new wristband designs.
