When you hear the name Microsoft, selfies aren't one of the first things you think of. You probably think more along the lines of Microsoft Office, Windows 10 and even the Xbox. But, selfies? That's not really what Microsoft is known for.
Soon, maybe it will be. At least, that's what the company is hoping for with its newly released app called Microsoft Selfie, available in the Apple App Store.
Microsoft Selfie won't help you to stay productive, like most other products from Microsoft. However, it will help you to take the absolute best selfie possible.
The app uses Microsoft's machine learning to make automatic enhancements to your photos. Microsoft calls these "intelligent enhancements," since the app factors in things like the lighting and your age, gender and skin tone. Taking all of this information into consideration, it then adjusts the image settings to produce the best photo.
If the automatic adjustments aren't enough to suit your fancy, there are also 13 additional filter options to choose from. These filters can clean up images and make other improvements to your photos.
Don't believe that the photo is actually better than the original? Well, just press down on your screen while using the app, and you'll be shown the original image so that you can compare.
