You can't always believe what you see, hear, or read on the Internet. That's especially true when it comes to Facebook. Not only are there scams and hoaxes to watch out for, there's also the occasional troll or prankster to keep an eye out for.
The latest misunderstood joke to go viral, shown above, was posted by Steven Roseman who shared a photo of a dog with a piece of ham on his face and the caption "This poor dog was badly burned and disfigured trying to save his family from a house fire. One like = one prayer. One share = ten prayers."
Since then, the post has been shared more than 100,000 times and has collected hundreds of comments from people who thought the joke was funny:
"Hamdog for President"
Others were fooled:
"This poor beautiful animal, my heart is breaking for him."
Some still thought the photo counted as animal abuse:
"Awe poor puppy suffering so bad Bc he know he wanna eat the ham on his face lol"
And others weren't amused at all:
"It's sad someone would put ham on this dog's face! They're are so many dog's that would get burns saving they're family. And for someone to make any kinda joke about a dog being burnt just pissed me off! Sick Bas#@*d!
Apparently you've never loved a dog!"
