Maybe Ashley Madison isn't dead after all
Ashley Madison

Despite users being labeled cheaters, despite ruined marriages, despite the leak of some very personal information, despite suicides and extortion, Ashley Madison - yes, that Ashley Madison - is reporting an INCREASE in memberships.

At the time of the infamous hack, the site that says "Life is short. Have an Affair" claimed it had 39 million members. Now, nearly five months later, the site's homepage proudly states it has 43,410,000 members.

Despite all the negative connotations associated with the site, what could be the reason for the growth? No one has yet attributed the site's success to one specific factor, however a press release from the company back in August claimed that "the imminent demise of Ashley Madison are greatly exaggerated."

The demise isn't hard to imagine, however, when you include the fact that Ashley Madison is facing several different lawsuits as a repercussion of the data leak. Some lawsuits are seeking upwards of half a billion dollars in damages. That's expensive even for a company who reported a $55 million profit in 2014 and $115 million in sales.

What do you think? Do you believe the numbers? Or could these members be more "bots"? Let me know what you think by posting in the comments below.
