If you thought exploding hoverboards were the most dangerous vehicle you could buy online, you need to check this out. A gentleman from Middletown, Michigan, named Seth Kettleman wasn't content with traditional go-kart motors that only put out a few piddling horsepower.
So, he created a go-kart with a Boeing 502-12 Gas Turbine engine that puts out 300 pounds of thrust. Depending on how much you weigh, you could get a very high power-to-weight ratio, which means a lot of speed (in a YouTube video title Kettleman says 160mph, but there's no actual proof). You definitely don't want to put a child in this, assuming you can afford it.
Mr. Kettleman is selling his creation for a hefty $10,500. You can also expect to shell out a few dozen for the diesel fuel, a few hundred more for safety equipment and then tens of thousands for the inevitable hospital stay.
Of course, after doing a little research online, it looks like he's been trying to sell this, or a similar model, since 2012. He also has a junior dragster and a converted shopping "kart" for sale. However, the website for TransTurbine is no longer live or available on Facebook, although his YouTube channel has been recently updated.
If you have some extra money and are thinking of trying to get your daredevil fix this way, let us just say, "caveat emptor." And be sure to send us a video.
Or you can wait and save up for a personal jetpack.
