"We wish you a Merry Christmas," "Joy to the world," "Tidings of comfort and joy;" if you listen to Christmas music it seems like the season is supposed to evoke a positive mood. However, given the stress of shopping, dealing with family, travel, endless Christmas carols in the stores and on the radio, you might feel a little less "holly jolly" and more "Bah, humbug!"
If you need a reminder to smile more for the rest of the month, ad agency McKinney has a solution. It created a Santa beard with a special feature: it shocks you. Seriously.
The beard contains five electrodes and some other hardware to monitor your facial muscles and deliver mild electric shocks when you don't smile enough. Bluetooth connects the beard to a smartphone app so you can see how much time you spend smiling, how big your smile is and if you're in for a shock.
It's an interesting idea, and might be something mall Santas could find helpful after hours of dealing with screaming children. For the rest of us, however, it might look a little odd when we're out and about.
Would you wear this beard? Let us know your thoughts on it, and your tricks for staying in a positive attitude, in the comments.
