You've no doubt been hearing about the horrific terrorist attacks in Paris. Hundreds of people were seriously injured and 129 people were killed by terrorists in several attacks that rocked the city on a beautiful Friday night.
You may have heard that the terrorist group ISIS claimed responsibility for the attacks. Which, judging by arrests made last night in Paris, appear to be true.
ISIS made that claim using modern technology. Specifically, they took to messaging app Telegram, which touts itself as being a secure site. Earlier this fall, Telegram introduced Channels, where people can communicate with each other.
Telegram today reported with a Twitter tweet that it has so far found and blocked 78 channels being used by ISIS. They were communicating in 12 languages. ISIS turned to Telegram after having been blocked by numerous social media sites, including Twitter.
