Way, way back in March, you might have read about "Staingate" on Komando.com. Thousands of MacBook owners were reporting that the anti-reflective coating on their Retina Displays was wearing off, leaving unsightly and infuriating stains all over the screen.

That looks pretty unusable, right? It wasn't just an isolated incident, either. Almost 6,000 people have reported the exact same issue on an online community called Staingate. They even launched a successful petition on Change.org to force the White House to respond.

Finally, the hard work has paid off and Apple responded. It's ridiculous and outrageous that it took more than seven months to respond, but Apple is now saying that it will repair or replace the affected computers.
