Carbonated apps? Pepsi rumored to sell smartphone

Yes. You read that right. Leaked images and specs have emerged online of a new Pepsi-branded smartphone. Being called the P1, the phone will operate on Android 5.1, have a 5.5-inch, 1080p display, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage.

It's also supposed to have a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Rumored retail is around $200 USD. Those are fairly mid-range smartphone specs these days, so is there anything that makes it special?

For example, do you get free Pepsi at vending machines? Does it have an app that lets you order Pepsi products and have them delivered to your door? Is it soda-proof if you spill on it? Does it at least make a pop-and-fizz sound whenever you unlock it?

From what we can see now, the only thing special is the Pepsi branding. We will have to wait and see when PepsiCo China makes the official announcement on October 20. In the meantime, you can check out the Weibo page, just be sure to use a translator. And see the leaked photos below.
