Back in July, there was word that Trump Hotels had been hacked. A little more than three months later, we've finally got confirmation. Trump hotels confirmed that there was malware present in its point-of-sales systems, leading to the possibility that credit card information has been compromised.
The Trump Hotel Collection site says that those at risk used their cards either at the hotel, gift shops, restaurants and other point-of-sale purchase locations. Following is a list of affected Trump Hotels properties.
- Trump SoHo New York,
- Trump National Doral,
- Trump International New York,
- Trump International Chicago,
- Trump International Waikiki,
- Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas, and
- Trump International Toronto.
Information taken includes payment card numbers, card holder first and last names, account numbers, expiration dates and security codes.
So, if you used your credit or debit card at a Trump hotel between May 19, 2014, and June 2, 2015, you'll want to visit the special site set up by The Trump Hotel Collection to learn all the details about what you should do.
The site notes that it has not yet found evidence of any information actually being removed from its system, but want its customers to take precautions, check their accounts for fraudulent activity and contact your bank or card issuer immediately if you see anything suspicious.
Lastly, Trump Hotel Collection is also offering a full year of identity theft protection services with Experian. You can reach them at 877-803-8586 for more information.
