The first thing you see in the mirror when you wake up in the morning is your own bleary-eyed face. The mirror doesn't lie, but in the future it could show you so much more than your reflection. By 2040, your mirror could literally save your life, or at least get you looking fierce.
Dr. Ian Pearson made these bold predictions for website, Bathrooms.com. Pearson is a futurologist at Futurizon and he suggests that our mirrors will be the next thing to get a major technology upgrade.
According to Pearson, mirrors will be able to tell you the weather forecast, bring you the latest news, tell you which shade of lipstick you should pick with your outfit and even diagnose small health problems just by analyzing your reflection.
These fancy new mirrors will be made up of organic LED materials and complete with high-definition cameras to snap an incredible selfie or keep a photo log of your daily outfits. Pearson also suggests that these mirror cams could be used for regular checkups so you can skip the dreaded trip to the doctor's office.
The idea of having a mirror in the bathroom that doubles as a webcam is a bit frightening, but if the right standards are put in place, Dr. Pearson's idea could be the next big thing. But what do you think?
Should mirrors remain unplugged from the Internet and technology as a whole or are you thrilled about the idea of checking the weather while brushing your teeth?
