Apple was supposed to release a new Watch operating system today alongside iOS 9. But Watch owners will have to wait because a very serious bug was discovered. This is all so unusual because it's happening at the very last minute.
Normally, Apple is the master at hitting release dates and delivering when they're supposed to, but this flaw set developers' plans back days, maybe even weeks.
"We have discovered a bug in development of watchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected. We will not release watchOS 2 today but will shortly," Apple said in a full notice to the company TechCrunch.
Even though Apple representatives wouldn't say what the issue was specifically, we can assume it was of rather large importance or they wouldn't halt the release of the operating system altogether.
The latest version of the Watch operating system would allow for app developers to have easier access in the connection between the iPhone and its Watch accessory. Now customers will just have to wait until the patched version is unleashed on the public.
We don't know when exactly that will be, but we'll keep you up to date as soon as we hear anything else. So make sure you're staying tuned with what's Happening Now for all of the latest details for this, and all other breaking tech stories.
