John McAfee is officially running for president, and now he's put out his first campaign commercial. He's running as a member of the "Cyber Party" and he's making Internet security and privacy his central campaign issues.
In case you don't recall, McAfee is the man who launched the anti-virus and cybersecurity company that bears his name. He calls himself an "eccentric millionaire," and it's not hard to see why. He was a suspect in a neighbor's murder in Belize and fled that country in 2012. More recently, he was arrested for DUI in Tennessee in early August.
It's doubtful that McAfee will have much of an impact on Election 2016, and he likely knows it, but running for president gives you a platform for your pet issues. And McAfee's primary goal, unsurprisingly, is "to speed up the rate the federal government adopts new technology, without sacrificing American freedom and privacy."
His four-minute campaign launch video is an interesting watch. Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think about this long-shot technology-focused presidential candidate in the comments below.
