Have you heard of the Tomatina festival in Buñol, Spain? It's the annual tomato-throwing party where thousands of people throw tomatoes all over the town. How cool would it be to explore the festival on Google Street View? At least that's what Google thought.
What could possibly go wrong when 22,000 people gather for a food-fight involving 160 tons of tomatoes? Well, Google found out the hard way.
Despite the company's enthusiasm for the event, as shown by the Google Doodle GIF below, the Street View car was pelted with tomatoes. Worse, the food fighters jumped on the car, broke windows and mirrors, and damaged cameras, according to The Guardian.
Twitter users captured photos of the Street View car after it was vandalized.

Google remained unfazed, though, telling The Guardian, "We regret that this has got in the way of our intention of celebrating the Tomatina's 70th anniversary but we can't let a small group of people undermine the spirit of the event."
