There's a new tool Facebook just put out, but you don't get to use it! It's just for famous people, or as Facebook calls them, "a public figure with a verified Page" - all you get to do is watch.

Facebook calls it Live, and it's not treading new ground, but rather giving celebrities their own mobile live-streaming video platform. Periscope and Meerkat are your best options for you to live-stream video from your mobile device.

Facebook Live is part of Facebook Mentions, a platform for celebs to communicate with fans and share updates to Instagram and Twitter as well as Facebook. Though we common folk can't broadcast on Facebook Live just yet, we're guessing fans will like seeing what their favorite famous people are sharing. And, unlike Periscope, which just saves videos for 24 hours, or Meerkat, which immediately deletes videos, Facebook Live videos stay online.

Early adopters include skier Lindsey Vonn, comedian Ricky Gervais, television chef Alton Brown and NBC anchor Lester Holt. More celebrities will be sharing videos to Facebook Live every day. Will you be watching? Let us know in the comments below.
