Do you use the popular Firefox Web browser? It's time to get the latest update: Firefox 40. This all-new version might look mostly the same (except to Windows 10 users), but it's the changes under the hood that make all the difference.
There are some important security fixes and also some new features that you might like.
Developers behind Firefox 40 decided to put a major emphasis on security. They've added extra security measures to protect against malicious third-party apps and programs you might download or click on unknowingly.
In addition to protecting users from dangerous downloads, this version of the browser also gives them warnings about threatening sites.
"Firefox 40 now issues a warning if you visit a page known to contain deceptive software that can make undesirable changes to your computer," Francois Marier, security and privacy engineer at Mozilla, wrote in an official blog post.
Most of the new features included in Firefox 40 have to do with appearances and maneuverability on mobile platforms and touch screens. Things like smoother animations, bigger buttons, fonts and tabs were added to make using the latest version of Firefox a breeze.
If you haven't received your update yet, don't worry. It is being pushed to browsers over the coming week, and if you just can't wait to have it, you can get Firefox 40 here.
