Fantasy football is more competitive than ever. If you don't want to be a loser this year, you need every advantage you can get. Now, IBM's famous AI wants to help you dominate your league.
Remember Watson? First the supercomputer won "Jeopardy!," then it came up with some delicious recipes and now it's giving you the inside scoop on who you should start in Week Four.
Using complex analytic and probability equations, this supercomputer is able to guess at what player would be best to start and when. IBM developers worked with Edge Up Sports, the group that gives hardcore fantasy players in-depth statistics and analyses to help them win their games.
Now the team is working with Watson to create an app that gives users a competitive edge by bringing them a statistical genius at the palm of their hands.
This app would find the rookie players with the best chances of performing well, veterans who are at the peak of their careers and trades no one would suspect. All of these little tricks could propel a player to the top of his or her league.
According to Fast Company, the system would also include things like NFL players’ Twitter activity, coaching statistics and articles by leading football writers to help find the best possible players and teams.
The Edge Up Sports app powered by IBM's Watson would bring to you all the tools you need to win your league without you having to scour the Internet for facts, statistics and news.
As a Fantasy player myself, this sounds like a great idea. But what do you think about this? Is a supercomputer generated team cheating or is it just another tool at your disposal?
