Looking for a new sport to get into now that football, basketball and hockey are in their off-seasons? Why not drone racing? It's incredibly fast and thrilling and the national championships are this weekend.

California's State Fair is hosting the U.S. National Drone Racing Championships, the first of its kind. Over 120 pilots from around the world are expected to compete.

The fairground stadium holds 11,000 onlookers as they'll watch the speedy gadgets whip around the air at upwards of 80 mph. Don't worry though, the stadium is equipped with netting so fans won't be pelted with fast-moving drones.

The winner of the U.S. National Drone Racing Championships walks away with over $25,000. That's a pretty nice deal to fly drones around all day in the nice California sun, isn't it?

If you're in California and plan on attending the race, leave me a note in the comments section about how it went in the comments section below!
