“It wasn’t my plan to record this at the Apple Store. First, my computer died. Then my external [hard drive] died… New York is expensive. I couldn’t just buy another laptop. I just thought, ‘I’m going to die before anyone knows I’m hot,’” Harvey explained.
He continued, "The Apple Store used to be like my second home. I did an entire album there. A lot of people started talking about it but honestly I never thought it'd be what it is. I just wanted to make music and frankly the idea to do it at the Apple Store was my friend Gordon's after I lost my computer, but I'm glad I listened to him."
His album, dubbed PHATASS (an acronym for Prince Harvey At The Apple Store SoHo), is set to be released at the end of this month and I'm eager to hear what music produced at an Apple Store will sound like.
I can appreciate his drive and creativity when the odds turned against him, but what do you think? Tell me by leaving a note in the comments section below.
