We all know that the Fire Phone had a less-than-spectacular launch, to put it kindly. But, this new package that Amazon has put together should make you consider giving the smartphone a try. For just $169, you get an unlocked Fire Phone, one year of Amazon Prime and premium headphones.
Let's break that down. One year of Amazon Prime costs $99 and those headphones are roughly a $20 value. Plus, the phone comes with unlimited free cloud storage for your photos. That means you're only paying about $40 or $50 for the Fire Phone. That's pretty good since a phone like this would have cost you $649 when it first launched.
What about the phone itself? Despite poor sales, the smartphone actually has a lot of quality features, including a 32 GB of storage, 13 MP camera, HD video recording and Amazon's Firefly technology that lets the phone identify things like books, videos, music, phone numbers and more just by taking scanning them.
It also features Amazon's on-demand, 24-7 Mayday tech support service and 33 million songs, movies, eBooks and other media integrated into the gadget. Plus, this is an unlocked GSM Fire Phone, so you can use it on any GSM network like AT&T or T-Mobile. You won't be able to use it on CDMA networks like Verizon or Sprint, though.
But, those aren't the only reasons now is the time to seriously consider buying the Amazon Fire Phone.
The one-year Amazon Prime subscription included in this package could end up saving you even more money. That's because Amazon's huge Prime Day sale is just around the corner.
Amazon is celebrating its 20th birthday on July 15 by putting on a huge sale that will feature more discounts than Black Friday. But, you have to be a Prime member to take advantage of the savings.
Becoming a Prime member will also allow you to participate in Amazon's #PrimeLife photo contest and win a $10,000 Amazon gift card.
If you're not interested in the Fire Phone, you can still take advantage of Prime Day savings by signing up for a free 30-day Prime trial.
