An unlikely animal friend duo has struck again. This time the friends, a raccoon and an alligator, were seen in the Ocklawaha River in Ocala National Forest, Florida.
These cute animal buddies were spotted by Richard Jones of Palatka, Florida, and his family while they were soaking up a little nature this weekend. The family got more than they bargained for when Jones' son accidentally scared the raccoon.
The frightened raccoon scurried past the Jones family and hopped aboard a nearby alligator who was just hanging out in the warm, shallow waters. The two rode together just long enough for Jones to snap a quick picture and then the alligator must have noticed the stowaway on his back.
He lowered himself into the murky water in an attempt to get the pesky critter off his back. The frightened raccoon realized his fate if he stayed on the alligator and quickly jumped off and ran into the surrounding marsh.
