Do you remember Draw Something? It was a popular drawing game a few years back, but has since taken a backseat to games like Candy Crush and Trivia Crack. But now, fans of that old game can scratch their artistic itch with a new game called Doodle Draw that's built right in to the Facebook Messenger app.
At first, I know that a lot of folks were upset when Facebook forced you to download the Messenger app in order to send Facebook messages on your phone or tablet. But that's just the way it goes. Over time, most users have adapted and many actually enjoy the functionality provided by the app now.
Now that Facebook users have finally gotten used to using a separate app to send Facebook messages, the social network has introduced this fun new third-party feature. Doodle Draw is available for Android and Apple gadgets, and it's the first game you are able to play inside Messenger.
In the game, you choose a word from a master list that you want to use. Draw your clue and send it to your Facebook friends so they can guess what word you are trying to indicate. It's a lot like a mobile version of Pictionary.
The artist can then watch replays of friends' guesses. Successful guesses will earn you points that you can use to purchase additional colors for your drawings.
Take a look at this Doodle Draw screenshot. The fun new feature lets you draw pictures for your friends right in Facebook Messenger.
You can add Doodle Draw to your list of Messenger features by opening up a message thread and simply clicking the icon with the three dots at the bottom of the page. From there, just scroll through the available third-party apps until you find Doodle Draw. Click the "Install" link. This will redirect you to your gadget's official app store, where you may download the add-on.
This isn't the only third-party application you'll see popping up in Messenger. There are already many other add-ons available, and Facebook is encouraging outside developers to create new features for users to play with.
