You count on me to keep you up on the latest viral Web trends, and I do not disappoint! This week the Internet is going crazy about an "elephie." Can you guess what it is? Sometimes these sensations are silly, but I think this one is actually really cool.
This "elephie," or elephant selfie, was taken and posted on Instagram by 22-year-old Christian LeBlanc while he was on vacation in Thailand earlier in the year. Apparently, he had come across a few of the creatures, so he bought some bananas to feed them. But when LeBlanc ran out of bananas things started to get interesting.
“The elephant quickly ate what little bananas I had and become touchy, trying to find more food,” LeBlanc, a college student from Vancouver, told ABC News. “Next thing I knew it grabbed my GoPro by the mount.”
LeBlanc also mentioned that his GoPro had been set to continuous shooting mode, which is ultimately what snapped the "elphie."
