Sure, your dog can sit and stay, run and fetch, roll over and play dead. But does that mean your pup's a genius? Or maybe it's completely the opposite! Maybe your dog constantly runs amok, chews table ends and is the boss of the house. Some dogs aren't very bright, but that's OK! We love them just the same.
Whether you've got a canine Einstein or a doggy dunce, now you can know for sure. There's a new IQ test out for dogs called the Dognition Assessment and researchers say it can reveal your dog's IQ plus unveil great insights into its personality. In fact, the site states:
By understanding your dog's mind, you'll build a deeper connection with the personality behind the bright eyes that greet you every day.
The test uses 20 different games to determine a dog's level of empathy, communication, cunning, memory and reasoning. One of the games tests the dog's instincts and asks, will your dog follow his memory or your pointing? You can see an example in the video below:
Sound like fun? Head over to dognition.com, but be warned. It will cost you $19 for access to the test materials and the expert analysis.
Once you and your pup take the test, your dog will be put into one of 9 categories: Ace, Charmer, Socialite, Expert, Renaissance Dog, Protodog, Einstein, Maverick or Stargazer.
Aces tend to be problem solvers, Einsteins are the smart ones, Charmers have great social skills, Protodogs are spontaneous, Socialites use humans to get what they want, Stargazers are aloof, Renaissance Dogs are the most reliable, Mavericks solve problem independently and Experts are fully capable of solving problems on their own.
