The next big thing in keyboard technology is here and it wasn't created by Apple, Microsoft or any of the other tech powerhouses you can think of. Nope. This brand new keyboard comes from fast food chicken chain KFC.
That's not a typo. The chain famous for its original recipe chicken is debuting a new, reusable keyboard that will help customers avoid putting greasy fingers on their gadgets. The ultra-thin Tray Typer keyboard replaces the paper sheet that normally comes on a fast food tray and can connect with your smartphone or tablet using a Bluetooth connection.
The keyboard is durable enough to be washed when you're done with it, and people seem to like it. Everyone who tried one out during recent restaurant openings took one home.
KFC isn't exactly the company you think of when I talk about cool new tech toys, but this new invention makes total sense. After all, how many times have you accidentally smudged up your smartphone screen by trying to text while enjoying some fast food?
Sadly, we won't be seeing the Tray Typer here in the U.S. any time soon. The keyboard was part of a KFC promo campaign in Germany.
